London - future thoughts..

Things I love about London -

1) The cultural diversity of the city, one of the few places you can go and hear five different languages in one place!
2) The endless amount of shops, bars, restaurants and bakeries to try out.
3) Historic and the beauty of the architecture
4) Entertainment is easily accessible
5) Conveniencce of most things e.g Starbucks on basically every corner and a Beard Papa
6) The fashion style of Londoners, always experimental and quirky nethertheless very fashion forward!
7) Opportunities to further your career e.g work placements and meeting valuable contacts.

Last weekend I kindly accompanied my cousin to an open day at The University of Westminster, beside from the fact that everyone still thought I looked young enough to be 17 I had a good reflection on my time at university and how that is shortly coming to an end.

Firstly I visited the Regent campus at Uni of Westminster, the campus where my cousin will be based if she attends there. It is literally right in the heart of central London, just off Oxford street to be exact! How amazing would that be? I know it wouldn't be to everyones desires, I mean the general hectic London life is a lot to take on but counter acting with that fact that you will have London right on your doorstep is pretty cool right?

In the regent campus they have a lecture hall called 'The Old Cinema' which is basically what it says, a historic old cinema where lectures are held, with an ornate old organ at the front and a balcony seating area it gives off a real flash from the past when you enter.

So, as I have described the University of Westminster so far, no doubts my cousin has really considered the establishment as a firm second choice. The course she is hoping to study is Cognitive Neuroscience, a firm BBB requirement is a suitable second choice after University of Manchester with its AAB grades.

The experience really made me relflect upon my own university life, as a fourth year now I am reaching the end of my academic era and will soon be a working employee. I feel my university experience overall has been good, but it could have been fulfilled more; as I ponder my degree and whether I have chosen the right course for me I take the good points of my university life such as meeting my lovely boyfriend and some great friends and look to move forward in life, whether that be a career in PR or a completely different discipline?

Watch this space..I hope to continue blogging through my graduate job search =)

Benefit - Girl meets Pearl!

As I have mentioned before, whilst I am studying at university I am also a part time beauty advisor for the cosmetics brand, Benefit; now a good perk of working within the beauty industry is the fact that I get given the new product to try out for free!

So, Benefit's latest little beauty wonder is... Girl meets Pearl, a liquid pearl lotion for the face; true to Benefit style, the packaging is adorable, purple and baby pink with an arty silhouette of a city skyline for the background.

Benefit - Girl meets Pearl
Cute packaging huh? I love the fact that the bottle is the same as the product That Gal, the twist pump makes application easier and it means you're not wasting too much of the product as all you need to do is a few twists of the bottle.

The actual lotion itself is a pinky sheer liquid that has been infused with a golden effect, it gives a lovely luminous effect on the skin. It has actual crushed pearls added to it which gives it that glow, and almond and sesame oil to firm and moisturise the skin. The product has also been infused with raspberry and camomille which are both known as cooling and depuffing agents, the raspberry in it also makes it smell so good!

Girl meets Pearl swatch
You can see from the swatch above that its very shimmery, but for those who have tried Benefit's High Beam or Moon Beam, the Girl meets Pearl differs as this is much more subtle when patted on the skin; whereas the High/Moon Beam are essentially facial highlighters, you get that more intense iridescent glow. Girl meets Pearl can be worn just patted over cheek bones and brow bones for the highlighting effect, so when the light or sun shines you will see that lovely shimmer. Or for those who want that dewy fresh look it can be applied all over the face, either under/over make up or simply mix with some liquid foundation such as You Rebel to give that subtle effect.

Girl meets Pearl over cheek and brow bone

Ok, so in the image above I have applied the product just over my cheek and brow bone and you can see that highlighting effect it gives, the picture was taken with no flash so the product shows up with just the light as an enhancer. It feels instantly cooling on the skin when applied and the first thing you notice is how gorgeous it smells! Application is simple and a little goes a long way. Like I mentioned previously you can mix it with your favourite foundation and it gives the skin a healthy and dewy look!

If you are interested in trying Girl meets Pearl then just pop into your local Benefit counter, whether that be in House of Fraser, Debenhams, Boots, Beales etc and ask one of the girls to try it out on you!

Urban Outfitters - Vintage interior design

I have always been a huge fan of the french rococo/ shabby chic style in terms of interior design, although it can be so pricey finding great vintage or even vintage inspired pieces!

Now behold Urban Outfitters and their wonderful home section...

Pip Studio Teapot- £35

I absolutely love this teapot! The design is perfect to complete a vintage inspired tea party, they are also selling more Pip studio crockery with these gorgeous tea cups!

Bird teacup - £12

Rose teacup - £12

Imagine sipping your early grey in these pretties...! One problem I have is with storing or in fact showcasing my little trinkets and jewellery, but alas Urban Outfitters has solved this issue with these stands and racks.

Neklace rack - £14
Spinning bird jewellery stand - £30

How divine are these? I love the delicacy and the detail in them, especially with bird stand because it spins, so cute!

Now for my favourite item, this beautiful ruffle duvet cover..

Ruffle Duvet Cover - £150
I fell in love with this duvet cover but as for the price?! Regardless it will give your bedroom that boudoir look, ruffles for bedsheets? Genius! Urban Outfitters are also stocking matching pillow cases and cushions for that ultimate look.

So, what do you think of Urban outfitters home collection? Worth it or not?

Welcome to the blog world...

Hello hello..

Welcome to The Haus of Coco Elle, Above is picture of myself, albeit a slightly edited one ;-) I have decided to blog under my online pseudonym Coco Elle and I wish my blog posts will be as interesting and thought generating as they are for me to write.

I am a current PR student studying at Bournemouth Uni who also works part time at Benefit Cosmetics! I guess I can say I am a typical girly girl and my blogging will reflect this with general blogs on fashion, cosmetics and design. Although as I am a PR student there will be elements of communications and media content.

So there is my introduction, and I shall be hoping to keep this blog up as much as I can fit it around my uni and work life!

Watch this space for the next blog...
